Time on the deck, especially early morning before it gets too hot. 2. Flowers here, there, and everywhere–even in pots and hanging baskets along city streets. 3. Farm-fresh produce, like sweet corn, tomatoes, and peaches. 4. Firelflies winking good-night in the trees. 5. Movies enjoyed in the A.C.–like A Great Awakening, The Zookeeper’s Wife, and A Man Called Ove. I’m going to check out the ones you listed, Jean. The summer isn’t over yet!

You never know when a pivot comes along if it saved you from something too. I really missed my retreat and the other one I was looking at is sold out. Yet I still feel I did the right thing and God will provide. I spend some great quiet time this week with the Lord. Yes all will be well.

As we listen to the Master’s voice He calls us to go or stay. Knowing He knows best is what helps me pivot well. It seems the older I get the easier it gets?

This is such a poignant post, Jean. I, too, have had these grief bursts at times. They don’t last a long time, but I know it’s important to feel our feelings and lean on God. I’ve been focused lately on listening more closely when an “alarm” (i.e. anxiety) goes off in my body instead of only listening to the thoughts in my head (they don’t always tell me the truth, imagine that! ha).

Oh Barb, I am so sorry you are going through this. I certainly identify and walk with you. I just heard of a book I am going to try to get at the library – Bearing the Unbearable. I know it helped a friend who lost a child and gave her courage to keep going. So much loss in so many ways – we need to help each other. sending hugs and love.
