I'm currently reading this book myself. I asked Jeff to answer the questions aloud at the beginning of the book about my listening skills. There were a few areas I need to improve upon. :)

I like your point that even for those of us who listen 'professionally,' there's always room for improvement ... most especially in our personal lives.

My favorite listening book is The Listening Life by Adam McHugh. I think you'd love it Jean ...

I am getting better listening too - do you think we get better as we age? or less distracted by young children? The minute then I think I am getting better, I mess up again. sigh. You used the word intently - I think that is one of the keys. Thanks for adding to the discussion, Martha.

I listen to others much better now than I used to, but I know it still needs work on my part. If we, ourselves, really wish to be heard, we need to learn to listen intently and lovingly to others.
Blessings, Jean!
