My mom used to say the same thing. If we hear a compliment about someone, be sure to pass that on. So much negative in the world we do more positives. Just had a discussion this morning with a friend about we never fully realize all the connecting and things we do good in this life. Sort of like It's a Wonderful Life - my favorite movie by the way. Kindness sure is needed now more than ever. don't you think? Thanks for your kind words, Nancy!

Jean,
Oh, yes, the world would be much better if people practiced more kindness. This struck me: "Carve your name on hearts, not on marble." by Spurgeon. Thanks so much for sharing this. I'm sending you an email, joy buddy:-)

Thank you, Jean, for this wonderful collection of kindness-inspiration, including your own quote! One practice I try to live out is complimenting folks on anything and everything. You might remember I was a teacher for many years. One time a parent of a former student stopped by to tell the three of us who taught fourth grade, "You three are the dream team!" He went on to explain that his son was flourishing in fifth grade. He could see that the study skills and responsibility training we had built into our curriculum was now benefiting his son. The three of us hung onto that compliment for years! Any time we became discouraged, we'd remind each other of our "dream team" status! Indeed: kind compliments become a part of who we are and we carry them long after the words are spoken.
