I, too, can almost always look back on a period of frustration or stress and discover it was when I had taken shortcuts with my spiritual practices.

I especially loved your reminder for “Repeat” — instead of wallowing in our failures, we should pick ourselves up and get back on the path — and that God will always repeat his acts of forgiveness.

I think of the children of Israel in the wilderness, collecting only today’s measure of manna at a time (except the day before Sabbath), then tomorrow doing the same thing, over and over. I like to batch my tasks when possible (it seems so efficient!), but some things just can’t be done that way. Prayer is a great example. Thanks, Jean! Efficiency isn’t always the goal. 🙂

It is the perfect reminder to try, try again when we fail to accomplish what we had initially hoped. Thank goodness for God’s loving kindness, rinsing us clean with forgiveness when we don’t come up to the bar, and encouraging us to repeat the acts of prayer and worship.
