i like how you explore that quote, Nancy. Slowing down to be present, to hold that special moment, to wake up to God - not slow as lazy, You used the word bored - perfect. I am trying to be more aware of moments during the day, pause, breath and smile at God - I like that type of slowing down.

That IS an interesting statement: "Slowing down doesn't mean slow." Maybe it means that when we slow down to notice and experience more of God, we are certainly not sluggish or inactive (like a slow train)! Nor are we bored, as in a slow business meeting. Neither do we want to be slow to respond either.

who would have guessed four simple seconds. I know that empowered me! Then I read today and will have to share on the blog: Slowing Down doesn't mean slow. mmmm, will have to ponder that one. Love your prompt of taking sips of coffee or tea! that would work. I am working on when I see birds and as I travel in the car - I smile and thank God. Thanks Nancy for being a part of my journey!

That research and subsequent advice from Peter Bregman is eye-opening. Who would have thought four seconds could make such a difference? I do want to incorporate more worship and listening moments into my days. I'm trying to let sips of coffee or tea be my prompt to pause--to taste and see that God is good. Still working on making that action a habit! Thank you again, Jean, for these rich spiritual lessons!
