I thought its history was interesting and does coat my heart with appreciation of the blessings we have now as compared to 100 years ago – things we too often take for granted.

Both of them experienced more than one crises in the ensuing weeks; no one would have been surprised if one or the other had lost his/her battle. But praise God both survived! I’ll never forget the Christmas program when Lily, one of those babies who had turned five that year, sang “Happy Birthday, Jesus.” No doubt I was not the only one who cried for joy!
