So glad you have experienced God through this time of healing. I agree the time with God is often without words or can't be described. Just held, Just be. Just loved.

I know he chose self care one decade and learning specfic things another one. I think this current one is prayer and discipleship. Interesting idea, isn't it?

“Held by God” I have experienced this being carried by God multiple times since my injury. It’s as if there is someone always with me it’s like you can tangibly feel a presence but you cannot explain it. It’s incredible sometimes it’s like talking to a friend you ask And it shall be granted and the only thing God requests in return gratitude and faith. :)

I love the idea of theming each decade. I'm 57 so I guess it's a little late for this one. But no, not really. I could still do it. :) Thanks for including these links, Jean. You're always a wealth of great information!

I really do believe in the power of gratitude. Interesting research about how gratitude actually changes the chemistry in our brains. I think our hearts too. Humility is a hard lesson too. I am thankful for you my friend.

I too love that David Vryhof quote. Reading it within the context of a difficult, ongoing situation a number of years ago, I can vouch for the truth of his words. As he points out, "Gratitude will not take away every pain or sorrow, but it will transform us in the midst of them." I learned important, transformative lessons during that time: humility, perseverance, taking every thought captive, practicing God's presence, and more. Praise God he does indeed bring MUCH good out of ALL things. / As for those pulsating droplets of water: mesmerizing! Isn't it glorious that we're still discovering wonders within God's creation?!

The month of January was a tough one for me, Jean, but the quotes you shared here from Henri and Br. David gave such comfort to my heart. God is there, always, in the good, the bad and the ugly. May we receive Him in love and thankfulness.
Blessings, my friend!

What a time of learning for both of us. I am asking God's help to be present and mindful for each person. Not easy for my busy brain but slowing down and being mindful of their journey/story has helped me. Going to your blog now.

Jean, this gentle nudge is speaking to me as I sit here with you this morning -->'Each person we see holds an incredible story behind their face.'

These days I'm learning much about God's faithfulness in this 'out of commission ' season
