Speaking

God surprised me as an adult with the discovery that I enjoyed public speaking.  Most people report that is is one of the biggest fears we have, yet I find it invigorating, exciting and fulfilling. Maybe I am crazy, but I really enjoy developing topics and themes, then presenting them.
Many of my presentations the last 20 years have been health related and to a wide variety of groups throughout northwest Ohio.  I found the most rewarding ones reflect my life mission, to know God and to make Him known.
Some of my topics for individual presentations and/or retreats include:

Cup of Life – the cup has been for many people a symbol of inner growth and the spiritual journey.  In the cup, one can see life – with its emptiness, fullness, brokenness, flaws, and blessings.
Chocolate – the Decadent and Divine Delight – learn more about the lessons in the lore and love of Chocolate.  A fun and inspirational message.
Spiritual Autobiography – Who am I?  How do I fit into God’s plan? A reflective and educational presentation on discovering ourselves as God’s children.  What can we learn from others’ spiritual journeys?  What spiritual legacy will you leave for your future generations?  “Every person’s life is a fairy tale written by God’s fingers.”

God’s Ambassadors – Angels   Are angels real? What does the Bible teach us about angels? What do they do and what do they look like? Jean will help you to discover what we can learn from angels and how to practice angelic types of actvities in our daily lives.  Growing in the knowledge of angels and applying their characteristics in our interactions with others will help you see God in a new way.  This topic best fits a Christian audience and can be presented for adults or modified for events like mother-child programs.

People Building – The Gift of Encouragement   Be a blessing. Speak a blessing. Do a blessing.  Encouragement is a tool Christians must use in this negative world.  In this presentation, Jean can help you discover the bricks used in people-building.  You will receive practical suggestions for encouragement and inspiration to share this gift with others.  We are challenged in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to “encourage one another and build each other up.”
Spiritual Scribbles – Journaling    Keeping a spiritual journal expresses on paper the person that is inside each of us.  Jean says, “This is one of the most effective routines in a growing relationship with our Lord.”  In this presentation, she will help you learn the basics and the benefits of keeping a journal.  A journal is more than a record of events – it helps you look at the patterns and cycles in life.  Keeping a journal gives you the opportunity to record the details of life, the joys and confusion of daily living, and the rewards and wounds everyone expereinces.
The Healthy Habit of Humor    Humor can have a powerful impact on your health.  Exercise and good nutrition are examples of “tools in your tool box” you already know about for good health, but the tool of humor is one that many people neglect.  In this presentation, Jean will show you how to develop and use humor as a health habit for life.  This is one of Jean’s most asked for topics.  Informative and fun!
Digging Deeper – Developing Spiritual Disciplines in your Life    God uses the spiritual practices of prayer, fasting, meditation, solitude, silence, worship and study to draw us closer to Him.  Are you ready to grow closer to God? Learn more about different spiritual disciplines and how to practice them more effectively.  Each discipline can be presented individually or combined for a half or full day session or retreat.
Energize your Prayer Life  Is your prayer life full of energy? Most people run on low power when it comes to prayer and are unaware of the tremendous strength that is available through prayer.  In this presentaion Jean will share how you can use your senses – sight, taste, touch, hearing and smell – to energize and deepen your prayer life.
Ten Commandments for Mothers-in-Law    In this country, we help people prepare for marriagae, childbirth, retirement and we even preplan funerals.  However, we neglect preparing women for one of the most important roles in life – being a mother-in-law. Ten commandments – all beginning with the letter E – for “Extraordinary and E-mazing mothers-in-law” provide the structure for this popular presentation.
Many Pathways to Prayer – Multiple Intelligence and your prayer life    Are you visual? Can you see connections?  Does music help you draw near to God?  Knowing your strengths using the Multiple Intelligence model can help you identify various approaches to praying that can draw you closer to God.  Jean will share the many pathways of prayer.
Spiritual Direction   Within each of us lies the desire to find meaning beyond the moment, to discover our true selves, to grow closer to God and to one another.  Interested in learning more about spiritual direction? Jean is a Spiritual Director and knows other directors in northwest Ohio.  Ask her about this deepening spiritual practice.

Jean’s presentations can be adjusted in length and combined to meet your needs from a single or keynote address to a half or full day seminar and retreat.  To invite Jean to speak to your group, contact her at:
