Whatever you do with your life
—whatever you end up achieving or not achieving—
the great gift you have in you to give to the world
is the gift of who you alone are;
your way of seeing things,
and saying things,
and feeling about things,
that is like nobody else’s.
If so much as a single one of you were missing,
there would be an empty place at the great feast of life
that nobody else in all creation could fill.
Frederick Buechner
I agree that it is so important to be yourself and not pretend to be someone you are not.
Nice pig and great quote. #SITSBlogging
Thanks for commenting, Jeanette. I have to do more commenting yet on our assigned blogs. need to work on that today. Fun to find new ones, isn’t it?
Love and appreciation, Jean.
This quote sure is thought provoking!
Well, if that splendorous pig doesn’t inspire us to be ourselves, nothing will! That pig makes me smile! She lifts my spirits with her cheerful flowers in bright colors. She inspires confidence with that lifted chin.
Actually, I think she may be praying! Not only is that pig looking heavenward, her front feet are raised like lifted hands! She’s giving herself to God and to his purpose–all he’s created her to be. “Thank you, Lord,” she says, “for making me the way I am, to fulfill the unique plan you have for me.” Mr. Beuchner would be pleased.
And I am pleased to receive your timely message, Jean!
I love that pig too and glad he made you smile. Never thought about her praying though and praising and dancing with God. What a neat thought. Thanks Nancy!
