Nothing is Impossible for God – Lectio Divina

October 2, 2011 By Jean Wise

This is what the Lord Almighty says: All this may seem impossible to you now, a small and discouraged remnant of God’s people.
But do you think this is impossible for me, the Lord Almighty? Zechariah 8:6 (NLT)

But do you think this is impossible for me, the Lord Almighty?

Yes, Lord, I do act some most of the time like You can’t handle my circumstances.
I feel I must be in control, not trusting in You.
I give discouragement the power to overwhelm me.
I allow my circumstances to make me feel small and insignificant and weak.
My eyes only see the impossible, forgetting who You are.
You are the Lord.
You are the Lord Almighty
You are the King of Impossibilities.
Lord, as I pray this verse I see two tiny three letter words.
Now
But
NOW all I see is impossible
BUT with God nothing is impossible.
You ask me, “Do you think this is impossible for me, the Lord Almighty?”

My only response:  I do believe; help my unbelief.

I hear you, Jean, and I have prayed that prayer so many, many times: Lord, help my unbelief.

Such a wonderful prayer Jean, and on a topic near and dear to my heart. It’s so easy for us to get wrapped up in the frustrations of our earthly worries, completely forgetting that while we’re certainly fallible, God most certainly is not. As you said, He’s “the King of Impossibilities.”, and can carry us through things far too much for us to bear.

    Wonderful post!

    Have a Blessed Day!

I have to remember this. I keep thinking I have to do it all – I have to be in control.
I am posting my article on Praying Unceasingly tomorrow and will link to your post on it! God bless!
