The Lord is my Song – Lectio Divina

April 14, 2013 By Jean Wise

The Lord is my strength and my song

and has become my salvation.

Psalm 118: 14

My Song

Lord, I am weak without You.
You are my strength
Lord, I am lost without You.
You are my salvation.
But Lord, I never thought before that You are my song.
But yes, You are the maestro and my conductor of all I speak and do.
You create simple scales, detailed orchestration and lovely tunes that accompany my every moment.
Your melody adds harmony to my life.
Your voice is the swelling crescendo of all the open thresholds You direct my paths through.
Your melody vibrates in my every cell.
You are music, Lord.
You exist in every silly chantey to the quarter rest in grand symphonies.
You are the hush in a lullaby.
You fuel the love in a serenade.
You are the energetic beat of the bass drum in a march.
You are song, Lord.
You are the trumpets announcing the birth of new life.
You are the hymns comforting the broken hearted.
You are the chords proclaiming holy matrimony.
I want to sing harmony with You, Lord
May my path of life follow You as my troubadour,
You are my strength.
You are my salvation.
You are my song.

Hi Dolly, I am soooo far behind in following up to comments this week. We leave on vacation tomorrow and it has been crazy getting ready. Thanks you for your nice comments on several posts this week. I do appreciate it and really loved readying how you linked to me. Thanks for that encouragement. You know sometimes blogging get lonely and you aren’t sure if you are making any sense, so your words mean a lot to me. Blessings on your week!

These verses, Mia, really spoke to me. I never thought of our Papa as my song before.
