I have been with you wherever you went.
2 Samuel 7:9
2 Samuel 7:9

I have been with you wherever you went.
What a promise, Lord.
That You are with us wherever we go.
Actually as I slowly say this verse and hold it close to my heart, I realize it is more than a promise.
This is not something happening someday in the future.
You are saying, “I have wrapped my arms around with you continually.”
You are already here.
You have been.
You will be.
Before
During
After
Forever.
No matter where I go.
Even if I try to run from You as a young child hides when they know they have done wrong.
Even when my world floods with the muddy waters of self-doubt and discouragement.
Even when I know I am not worthy.
You stay with me.
Just as You have in the past.
Just as You are here right now.
Just as You will be in the future.
Before
During
After
Forever
No words can adequately express what I feel when I realize the saturation of Your love that permeates every moment of my being.
Thank you Lord.
It’s a truly wondrous promise, and one that provides me with amazing comfort Jean.
Beautiful encouragement!
Have a Blessed Day!
You know, if I kept that in my mind, I wouldn’t tend to gripe/be discouraged as much, right? Wonder if that makes Him sad? Jeanie, you must’ve hit me where I needed it today.
Blessings***
In my desert spirituality class, there was a story about a monk who was getting ready to leave the desert because he wanted to run from what he had found in his heart. And he looks up and sees someone just like himself (who actually was himself) lacing up his shoes at the same time. Where you go, I will go, he says.
The same is true with the Lord. Where we are, there He is, mess and all.
What a simple promise but so comforting to look back and know for sure that He was there.
God’s promise to be always with me makes all the difference to me. No matter what I am going through, I know He is there.
That is the one thing we can count on for He is always with us
Beautiful reminder! Thank you, Jean!
