My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me
John 10: 27
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23
These words speak for themselves, Lord.
This is my prayer this morning.
To recognize You and only You as my Shepherd.
To be so close to Your breath, that I hear even Your quietest whisper.
To have my only steps following the footprints You have laid before me.
To lie down at night in Your arms and drink from Your refreshing water.
To know with all my heart that even in the darkest moments of life, when all is confused, chaotic and cloudy, You are there with me.
To feel Your healing touch on my broken and painful hurting heart.
To bow down in thankfulness for the many blessings from You, those I know and those unknown.
To see Your goodness, grace and love all my life and
To make my home in Your pasture forever.
Lord, You are my Shepherd.
Beautiful, Jean. ‘Love your personalization of Psalm 23. This line spoke to me especially: “To know with all my heart that even in the darkest moments of life, when all is confused chaotic and cloudy, You are there with me.” I cannot imagine life without this assurance!
Hi,
We must be listening to Him at the same time. I wrote about Shepherds on Wednesday. Too funny.
Blessings,
Janis
Psalm 23 is on my blog this weekend, too, along with river and bird photos. http://www.watchtheshepherd.blogspot.com/2013/04/beside-still-waters.html
