Just then a light-radiant cloud enveloped them, and from deep in the cloud, a voice: “This is my Son, marked by my love. Listen to him.”
Mark 9: 7
Listen to him.
What a moment, Lord, for Jesus’ friends.
Their hearts must have burst open when they realized who they were seeing – the famous Elijah and Moses.
Standing there with their master, their lord, their teacher.
Holy ground.
Divine moment.
Sacred occasion.
Let’s capture this moment.
Take a selfie.
Build a dwelling to house everyone.
But God surprised them by creating an even more spectacular and incredible encounter – not just with his most faithful messengers, but with God himself. A divine occurrence that couldn’t be embraced by a house or by manmade mechanisms.
God arrived as a light- radiant cloud.
Lord, open my eyes to see your light radiating in my life
Then God spoke from deep within the cloud.
Lord, clear my ears to hear your voice.
“This is my Son.”
Lord, I confess that Jesus is your son.
“Marked by my love.”
Thank you for also imprinting my soul with your divine kiss.
“Listen to him.”
Lord, help me obey your commands and follow your ways.
Peter, James and John witnessed a life-changing event that day.
May these words dwell within me to transform my life and shape me in your image.
Surprise me too, Lord with your presence.

Hi Jean! “Take a selfie”. I LOVED that. It really captures the mindset of Peter. And me. When I have divine appointments, I do have a tendency to grasp them. Meaning the moment, instead of grasping the message.
Happy Monday!

I couldn’t resist the take the selfie, Ceil as that is exactly what I would be doing instead of listening or taking it all into my heart. I think God does understand that about us – he sees it even when we don’t. Happy Monday to you too.

“Take a selfie.” 🙂
Love this, Jean. I wonder how many divine moments and sacred occasions I miss because I am not listening to him? I want to be both surprised and expectant for such visitations.

I couldn’t resist the take the selfie. If that happened to us right now, wouldn’t we be grabbing our phones to capture the moment. Probably video tape it too. Then I would be so wrapped up with the equipment, like the disciples were with building a dwelling – I’d miss the whole point. Ahhhh, human nature. Thank heaven God understands and loves us anyway.
