Am I losing my mind? I felt that way. I wandered around the house, searching, feeling incomplete, knowing I am missing a piece. You see, I lost my Fitbit. I am as attached to my tiny step measuring buddy as I am to my smart phone and the Internet. Oh, and probably my hubby. WHERE ARE YOU??? (screaming this for my Fitbit, not my husband.....well, again, probably both) I hadn’t left the house since I checked my counter earlier in the day. Hey, it’s got to here someplace! We hunted. We peered under counters and inside the crumbs of my favorite chair cushion (found a quarter and two missing game pieces though) We aimed the flashlight into so many dark cob-webby corners I concluded I really do need to clean more precisely someday. We checked, rechecked and this morning checked again every nook, cranny and edge of existence. No luck. Disappeared. Down the black hole where all the socks and favorite pens vanish. Am I losing my mind? It has to be here … [Read more...]

On the Third Day God Created Chocolate!
I thank you, God, Creator of all things, for so much, but today I thank you for chocolate! Today on some calendars in International Chocolate Day. Anyone else notice that tension between the rewards of routines and the advantages of adventures? The Rewards of Routines Freedom - We have had such a busy summer! When I flipped the calendar to September, I smiled. Though we have plans between now and the end of the year, there is only one multi-day trip scheduled, so many Monday through Fridays are mine to organize as I wish. Ahhh, routine gives me freedom. More control. A sense of managing time in MY way. And to be honest, sometimes I just don’t want to make more decisions and have to think through everything. Let the pattern of the day guide me. This type of freedom relaxes and releases built-up anxiety. … [Read more...]
